Children's Ministries

Children are an important part of the St. Paul's family and we offer a variety of ways to get them involved, to educate and to make church a fun and spiritual experience for them. We have Sunday Christian Formation classes, Children's Chapel, and a child friendly Wednesday Night service. Other events throughout the year include St. Nicholas night, the Christmas Pageant, Children's Stations of the Cross, VBS, Choir Camp and Summer Camp at Camp Mitchell.

Children's Chapel

For children from age 3 through 9

Children's Chapel is a separate service offered during the 8:45 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday services. Chapel is designed for those too old for nursery care, but too young to fully appreciate the full service in the Nave; ages 3-9. Children follow the verger out of the church at the beginning of the worship service. Our Children’s Chapel service, reflects the service in the Nave. Children gather to hear the Gospel, sing, say the Creed and share Prayers of the People. They are escorted back to their parents during the announcements, as to share the eucharist with their families.

Children's Christian Formation

Sunday School for Children from age 3 through Sixth Grade

Christian Formation/Sunday School takes place during the 10:00 Education Hour in the upstairs wing. Children from age 3 through 6th grades enjoy learning Christian practices and snack with a dedicated team of teachers and volunteers. All of our classrooms are located upstairs from the welcome center.

  • Green Atrium, Preschool (ages 3-4)
  • Yellow Atrium, Kindergarten
  • Purple Atrium, Grades 1-2
  • Peach Atrium, Grades 3-4
  • Middle School Atrium, Grades 5-6

Christian Formation uses a mix of Godly Play, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and Living the Good Word.  We serve between 40 and 90 children in Sunday school, and we have 14 regular teachers, several substitutes and numerous adults who help with the snack preparation.  These people are a blessing to our children and are committed to this ministry despite demanding work and family schedules.  In the summer, we have two classes, one for preschool-2nd grade, and another class for those in 3rd-6th grades.

Youth Ministries

The Youth Ministries Program is a community of youth and adults who come together to discover God’s love and grace, to explore where God is calling each of us to be in the world, and learn how to live in a secular world in a spiritual way.

The Youth Ministries Program consists of: Sunday School, Confirmation Class, EYC, Wednesday Faith Stories, Gender Groups, Diocesan Events, St. Dominic’s Choir, and worship leadership through Acolytes and Junior Ushers

St. Paul's Youth Ministry: Ranked in Top 5 in the Episcopal Church. Chosen for a national study of 40 Best in all denominations.

Sign up for EYC Text Group

Send the text message @aterre to the number 81010.  You should then receive some prompts about how to set up the alerts.  This is the primary way we'll communicate with the kids before events.

This year EYC will focus on developing humility through service leadership. We're asking that every parent please register their youth for this year. Registration link can be found here.

Wednesday Night Faith Stories

Come join us every Wednesday evening for a meal with our parish, a lovely children-friendly service, and good times with EYC. We'll be focusing on monthly themes this year to help our youth grow into spiritually wise people who will make our community a better place. The community meal begins around 5:30 p.m, followed by worship at 6:15. WNFS will start at the conclusion of worship and finishes at 8 p.m.

Sunday Suppers

We've partnered with several other churches to offer a wholesome meal to those in need. We meet the second Sunday of each month at St. Paul's at 2:30 p.m. to transport supplies, or you can go directly to Trinity United Methodist Church located on the corner of Sycamore and Garland around 3 p.m.  We need as much help as possible, and we'd like our youth to help frequently. Gender Groups don't meet the evenings of Sunday Suppers, as we view this outing as our primary community outreach for EYC. Our next Sunday Suppers is October 9.
