Shrove Tuesday

February 13, 2018 5:30 pm February 13, 2018 7:00 pm America/Chicago Shrove Tuesday

Come get your last filling before Lent! The English call it “Shrove Tuesday” and use up all the eggs, milk, and sugar in the cupboard by cooking pancakes. The French call it “Fat Tuesday” and throw a big Mardi Gras party before the disciplines of Lent begin. At St. Paul’s, you can take your pick. On Tuesday, February 13, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., our Episcopal Youth Community will serve pancakes and Cajun fare (with vegetarian options). Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under, with a $30 maximum per family. Pre-sale tickets will be available for purchase in the Welcome Center and we’ll also sell tickets at the door. Beer and wine will be made available to adults in exchange for a donation. All proceeds from Shrove Tuesday will go to the Robert R. Brown Camp for persons with physical and/or cognitive impairments at Camp Mitchell. Volunteers are needed and greatly appreciated. If you’d like to help with the cooking, set-up, preparation, or clean-up for this event, call Amanda Robinson at 479-422-1885, or just show up. As always, you’re strongly encouraged to wear beads, masks, or other Mardi Gras costumes. Don’t miss the highlight party of the year!
