Bright Light Tutoring

Tutoring 3rd, 4th, 5th graders from Washington Elementary School on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon

Bright Light Tutoring Volunteer Application

Fall Semester Begins October 1, 2009!!    Training Session September 24, 3-5PM!!
You do not need to be an accredited teacher.  You do need to be willing to help the students work on reading and math skills and complete homework and special project assignments.  You need to be the one who will make a difference in the life of a child by being that special person which he or she can depend on to be there to help.  "as you have done it to the least of my children, you have done it unto me"  Matthew 25:40
Areas to volunteer:
Walker-escort students from Washington Elementary to St. Paul's Episcopal Church
Enrichment Aide-plan and assist in activities (arts & crafts, music, drama, etc)
Tutor-tutor one-on-one in reading and math skills, homework completion, special projects
Driver-take home the students who normally ride the school bus (Must be a member of St. Paul's)
Rider-ride in the van to assist driver with students
Adults, college students and teens over age 16 are welcome to be tutors and/or "other" volunteers
Time commitment is shown on Application. (see link above)
Other ways to help:
Sponsor: Fall (Halloween Theme) and Spring (Year End) Parties
Donations: a new book is given to all students at the end of the school/tutoring year
