Community Meals Report
GRACE CLEGHORN
As food insecurity continues to grow in our community, so does the outpouring of support from volunteers. In 2023, our volunteers prepared and served somewhere around 7,000 plus hot meals and close to 4,500 to go sandwiches.
Our volunteers are showing up more than ever; on some holidays, and during inclement weather. We have folks that go out of their way to pick up milk from Hylands Dairy every single week, and some that go all the way to Springdale to the Stonemill warehouse for bread. 2 of our volunteers pick up Food Bank orders on available Fridays, and some come in on off days to help prep for larger meals.
Our community meals volunteers are vital to this community, and I’m so proud to be a small part of their service.
