Emma Mitchell Leaving St. Paul’s
A Letter From Evan
I am both sad and excited to share that Emma Mitchell will be leaving St. Paul's for a new position at Trinity Cathedral in Little Rock. I am sad because Emma is an integral part of our staff and because she has built deep pastoral relationships with our youth and throughout the parish. I am excited because this is a great opportunity for Emma to expand her ministry and because she will be leaving our youth program in great shape for whomever we call next.
For three years, Emma has built strong relationships with our youth and parents, recruited and equipped volunteers to support our youth program, and provided loving pastoral care to our youth in challenging times. She has brought energy, creativity, playfulness, and faithfulness to this ministry. I will miss her dearly, and I know you will, too.
Emma's last Sunday at St. Paul's will be September 18. That morning, we will say goodbye to Emma during coffee hour after the 11:00am service, and our youth will celebrate Emma's ministry among us at EYC at 3:00pm that afternoon. Samantha Clare, our Director of Christian Formation, and I will begin searching immediately for our next youth minister, and we have confidence that the right person will be on board soon.
Please join me in thanking Emma for her work among us and praying for her and for our youth group.
Yours faithfully,
Evan
A Letter From Emma
To the youth, their families, and St. Paul's,
The Holy Spirit sure does have an odd sense of timing. I am excited to share that I have accepted a call to be the Director of Children, Youth, and Families at Trinity Cathedral in Little Rock. I also share in the sadness of my departure because St. Paul's is a place I call home, both personally and professionally. My work here has been formative and life-giving and it was not an easy decision to take this next step. However, I am confident in the community that we have built and its ability to care for one another during times of transition.
It is a good thing when leaving a place feels more difficult than easy, because it means that the time spent there was meaningful. I ask for your prayers through the next few weeks, for myself and the youth program. And while I will no longer be your Youth Minister, I am grateful to still be a part of ministry in this diocese and sharing in that work with you all, just south of the Arkansas River.
Sincerely,
Emma Mitchell
