Theology on Tap starts new book

Theology on Tap will begin discussing a new book, Encountering Mystery: Religious Experience in a Secular Age by Dale C. Allison, Jr.

Allison is a New Testament scholar from Princeton with numerous books to his credit. He waited until he was retiring and his reputation was established before writing this book that has been on his heart since he was 16, when he experienced the stars engulfing him with an overwhelming, forbidding yet benevolent presence. For twenty seconds, he says, he experienced God. 

This study is a collection of similar mysterious encounters and thoughts about them by an acknowledged scholar. 

Theology on Tap meets on the first Wednesday of the month in a small room at Whole Hog Cafe on College Ave.
