Parenting Through Pandemic: Pandemic Grief

Note: We've shifted this month's meeting to be a week later in order to avoid conflict with Blessing of the Animals.
October’s Topic: Pandemic Grief
This month's topic is "pandemic grief." Whether it's the ability to visit grandparents, missed sports seasons, isolation from social opportunities, or illness and death, sources of grief are present in our lives and sometime have new faces. Our ability to cope and our support systems may look different today than before the pandemic. We will discuss how a loss of normalcy has led us (and our children) to grieve and what we can do to support healthy responses to change.
We will be joined by Sarah Gheen, MS, LPC who will give a brief introduction to the topic and help us to frame the conversation. Sarah is a Licensed Profession Counselor, who has worked in private practice, community mental health, and school counseling settings for 19 years. Her experience includes working with adults, adolescents, and children in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Sarah is currently in private practice and the School Counselor at Owl Creek Elementary in Fayetteville.
Here are a couple of articles that explore the topic and which you might read to prepare for our gathering:
