Parish Nurse Installation
Renewal of St. Paul’s Parish Nurse Ministry
Parish nurses provide care to a faith community, emphasizing the relationship between faith and health. Specific nursing activities address physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being, closely attending to the inseparability of these dimensions. Parish nurses serve to achieve the holistic health and well-being of individuals, families, and groups within the faith community.
Parishioner and registered nurse Lynne Patterson, recently completed the Westberg Institute’s Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course. Deacon and registered nurse Kathy McGregor, completed parish nursing courses in 1998 at Eden Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri and served several churches as parish nurse in the past.
Together, Lynne and Kathy will serve St. Paul’s in a renewed parish nurse ministry. They will continue to provide nursing support to the Caring Friends ministry and participants at Community Meals. They are also available to assist parishioners in need of nursing support, as well as provide holistic health and wellness programs for our parish.
Lynne and Kathy will be installed at the 11:00am service on November 20, 2022 in honor of the November 17 feast day of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, Patron of Nurses.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. 2 Corinthians 1: 2-4
