Theology on Tap starts new book in December

November is Native American Heritage Month. Theology on Tap begins a new book, Ladder to the Light: An Indigenous Elder's Meditations on Hope and Courage by Steven Charleston.

Steven is a retired Episcopalian Bishop, former Dean of Episcopal Divinity School, and a member of the Choctaw tribe. He grew up in Oklahoma and lives there now. You may remember he was a Tippy Lecturer and was one of our best.

In 2003, when St. Paul's had our conversation about whether or not to offer blessings to our committed same-sex couples, we used Bishop Charleston's resource “Good News: A Congregational Resource for Reconciliation” as a container for our process for conversation and discernment. It was an invaluable help.

Steven's new book speaks of wisdom and hope in times of darkness. “Darkness will not last forever. Together we can climb toward the light.”

Theology on Tap meets online the First Tuesday, December 7, from 6 - 8 pm. Link is below. We will read through page 88 (through chapter 4) for our December meeting.
