Eve of Epiphany

AM: Psalm 2, 110:1-5(6-7)
Joshua 1:1-9 • Heb. 11:32-12:2 • John 15:1-16

Eve of Epiphany
PM: Psalm 29, 98
Isa. 66:18-23 • Rom. 15:7-13

As you read this reflection, we wait anxiously for tomorrow. The readings are filled with hope. Isaiah tells us “I will set a sign among them” (all nations). The reading from Romans prays; “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” The Psalms are filled with rejoicing and song.

Last night I looked up into the sky to view Saturn and Jupiter, a brightness in the sky that was truly lovely. When I read that this event is referred to as The Christmas Star, I thought, if ever a time was needed for a Christmas Star, the end of 2020 is it. I am hopeful for 2021; a new year, a new start, renewed health and prosperity for our country.

Today we wait for tomorrow, a day in our liturgical calendar when God’s love is revealed to all. It is not reserved for only some. Compassion. Hope. Charity. Dignity. Love. For each of us.

Oh, how I await for tomorrow and all that is yet to come.
