Seeking Donations for International Writer at Risk Program

The Arkansas International Writer at Risk Program is a new initiative that invites a writer at risk in their home nation to live in Fayetteville for at least one year as a writer-in-residence within the University of Arkansas’s Program in Creative Writing and Translation. We expect the first writer to arrive in January 2023 and we are seeking donations of furniture and household goods to equip an apartment for the writer and spouse.

Below is the list of household items that are needed for the apartment. Donated items should be clean and in good working order. We hope to have the apartment furnished by January 1, 2023. For more information or to donate items and arrange for pickup, please contact Bill Speer at may5005ster (at) gmail.com or Laura Speer at lspeerster (at) gmail.com.

For those that prefer to make a monetary donation go to www.arkint.org, click Support, and then use the drop-down menu to select Writer at Risk. Arkansas International is a non-profit organization on the University of Arkansas campus.
