Jack Cleghorn
Choirmaster

ext. 815

Equally at home with choirs, orchestras, and keyboards, Jack A. Cleghorn serves as St. Paul’s Choirmaster and Organist. Here, Jack has the joy of working with the St. Paul Choir, the choristers of the Sts. Teresa, Nicholas, Cecilia, and Dominic choirs, and the St. Mary’s Handbell choir.

For Jack, the inestimable value of sacred music becomes apparent when people of any and all age groups come together to create something bigger than oneself. This is where he feels all people can share a wondrous link with God, no matter where they are on their journey of faith.

Jack is a passionate music advocate and serves as the Arkansas American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Life Long Choirs Coordinator, the Repertoire and Resources Chair for Music in Worship, and as Sub-Dean of the Northwest Arkansas American Guild of Organists. He also serves as a board member of SoNA, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas.

Jack received his degrees in music from the College of Charleston and Westminster Choir College. He continued his studies in conducting at the University of Oxford as a Conducting Fellow at the Conducting Institute at Oxford, England, and continued his orchestral studies with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra at the Peabody Institute of John Hopkins University. Most recently JAC studied conducting at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival Academy with Jaap Van Sweden, conductor of the New York Philharmonic, in Gstaad, Switzerland.

When he is not making music or teaching music, Jack can be found biking or floating around NWA, playing with his pups, Lady and Winston, or enjoying the mountains with his wife, Parish Chef extraordinaire, Grace Cleghorn.
